Road User Charging

Road user charging has been included in all options because it will be needed for the Compact City to fulfil its full sustainability potential. If charging is included in one of the options, then it should be included for all; otherwise it may be difficult to isolate the differences between the options caused by variation in land use configuration and associated transport networks from the effects of including or excluding road user charging.

Unfortunately the project does not have sufficient resources to test the options both with and without road user charging.
